what am i doing May 3, 2015 @ 4:17am. When people say you can solo Guild Wars they don't mean you can do it with one character, they mean you can do it without any other human players. The wording comes from back when it was conventional to do the game with humans, and when AI were a disadvantage, but still doable.
The only classes that are "good" with staff in High End PvE are Thief, Ele, and Druid. In open world, anything with staff is good with staff TBH (Guardian, Revenant, Thief, Druid, Necro, Mesmer, and Ele) It used to be that Guardian staff was the best for zerging. Staff thief is more "okay" than "good", but it's certainly usable.
5. Thief (Shortbow) [Top 5] Guild Wars 2 Best Willbender Builds For PvP and PvE. The powerful, combat-oriented elite specialization of Guardians, the Willbender, has replaced its F1-3 Virtue skills with powerful martial arts combat skills with varying usages in battle since their introduction in End of Dragons.
Various bow builds, trapper, touch Necro skills, spear builds, scythe builds, dagger spam, pet focused, spirit spam, hammer (thumper) build, whirling defense farming, etc. Also with Elementalist you can focus on builds for different elements to change things up or mix together with Master of Magic or go E/Mo healer. Mesmer imho, Backfire and Empathy wreck Charr. I used Ranger as secondary for the pet. My Mesmer is 19 and 50% to 20. I would recommend. Killing the bosses and charr groups is incredibly easy. Backfire wrecks the casters and Empathy will make Axe Fiends and Bladestorms a total joke.
Thief and mesmers have equal potential imho. Best at RUNNING in 1vX. Definitely thief, mesmers have very little to actually get away while thief have a plethora of options. Best at STOMPING in 1vX. Mesmers having the 3-4s invulnerability (on a long cooldown, admittedly) definitely has an edge.
Mesmers control the battlefield to kill you, rather than shooting you in the face. I also definitely wouldn't recommend starting out as a Mesmer to a newbie, since they're one of the harder classes to level up (they really need all their traits to really shine). When a newbie comes in asking for a ranged glasscannon mage, Elementalist is
My favorites for melee are Reaper Greatsword, Ranger Greatsword, Scrapper Hammer, Warrior Axes, and Revenant Maxe/Axe. The sound design on all of them is just sublime, and Reaper Greatsword, Scrapper Hammer, and Revenant Mace/Axe in particular have fun combo field play that makes them really satisfying to burst with.
I don't really recommend choosing to play a cleanse support or Firebrand in your position, only good if you get organised and join a guild group. Another good option is dps Scrapper which is very easily to play, just use shredder/blast gyros and spam flamethrower 1 when melee pushing with a group or use mortar kit for ranged.
Cons: low damage, lack of utility/boons for the group. Ranger: A solid profession in PvE. Pros: Nature spirits, Spotter, boons output. Cons: Average damage. Revenant: A solid support in PvE. Pros: Alacrity, Provide "high" life leeching to the group. Cons: lack of flexibility due to legend skillsets, average damage at best.
The Engineer is the Guild Wars 2 best class for the tech-inclined. It uses a mixture of gadgets, turrets, and tool kits to cause mayhem. It uses a mixture of gadgets, turrets, and tool kits to cause mayhem.
